What is "AR"?

What is Accelerated Reading (AR)

You’ve probably heard your child talk about AR points. AR stands for Accelerated Reading. AR is a program where books are read and then quizzes are taken to test comprehension. Depending on the quiz score, points are earned. Each grade in the school has their own goal that each child can reach in order to go to the school’s AR party in May.

1st Grade 60 points                                                                    2nd Grade 100 points                                                                  3rd Grade 125 points                                                                  4th Grade 150 points                                                                  5th Grade 175 points

As a parent you can help your kids by reading with them or encouraging them to reading every night at home.  Go to arbookfind.com to check if the books your child is reading have AR quizzes with them that they can take at school during the day. If the book is not listed then they can fill out an AR report form in their classroom for AR points.

Quizzes can only be taken at the school during school hours. Every teacher gives the students’ class time to take these quizzes.

As a parent you can go to the web site https://Hosted354.renlearn.com/252229rp/HomeConnect. (Don’t add .com to the end of the address and you have to open it up in Google Chrome). On this site the User name is your child’s student number (they should know this or their teacher will), password is ASHLEY.

Once you sign on you can set up your email account in the upper right hand corner to receive emails about quizzes your child takes. You can also look at their total points.
